Some consider Tom Green a comedic genius, at least you would think somebody does since someone gave him the money to make the movie Freddy Got Fingered. Drew Barrymore (Home Fries) must think so since she married him, but personally I don't think he is funny, just stupid. Furthermore, since Freddy Got Fingered is basically an hour and forty-five minutes of Tom Green style comedy, the movie is pretty stupid. Tom (Charlie's Angels) plays Gord, a 28 year-old loser still living at home (sounds like my own brother) and looking for his first job. Gord heads to LA from his home in Portland, Oregon where he is to work in a cheese sandwich factory while trying to sell his cartoons. Of course no one wants to buy the cartoons because they are stupid and not funny. Gord returns home where he battles with his dad Jim (Rip Torn, Wonder Boys). As it turns out, Gord is really just trying to get the approval of his dad. He is also trying to have a relationship with Betty (Marisa Coughlan) who is a doctor and amateur rocket scientist, and all she wants to do with Gord is suck his dick. Conflict runs throughout as Gord and dad battle it out, while mom (Julie Hagerty) and brother Freddy (Eddie Kaye Thomas, American Pie) watch from the sidelines. Eventually Gord destroys the family by making up a story about dad molesting Freddy (hence the name of the movie). Not only is Tom Green the star (loosely used) of the movie but he also wrote and directed it as well. And what a crappy job he did. The only bright spot in the movie is Rip Torn. Now I did laugh at a few of the jokes, but most of the jokes got real old, real quick. The rest of the cast includes Connor Widdows, Mike Bullard, Jackson Davies, Anthony Michael Hall, Scott Heindl, Drew Barrymore, and some other no-names too. Not only is the movie stupid and boring, but also is way too long. So in an effort to counteract the length of the film, I will now finish the review with a rating of one couch for Rip Torn on a scale of ten for the About-Movies.com review.
