The Review:

How often do you find a comic book story made into a movie that is what you expected? Well I didn't read the comic book, or play the video game, so I did not have many expectations in this movie. X-Men, directed by Bryan Singer was your what you expect in the campy comic book storyline made into a movie. The cast was all star, Patrick Stewart (Star Trek: Insurrection) was Professor Charles Francis Xavier or Professor X, yes, he was a mutant. Halle Berry was another mutant, Ororo Munroe or Storm. Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was Raven Darkholme or Mystique and Anna Paquin (She's All That) was Rogue. The mutant world is feared by the normal human race and they want to be able to mark and identify them. At the same time, the mutant world is being divided into good and evil. The evil mutants are trying to kidnap Rogue because they need her power to defeat the humans. The good mutants have to rescue Rogue and save the world. The special effects are good and the imagination that went into developing these characters is wonderful. You can already guess which side will win, it is a movie after all. I enjoyed seeing what each X-men could do and why they would need such abilities. The action was entertaining. My rating of this movie is 7out of 10. There is nothing wrong with the picture, only it requires a certain appreciation for this type of film.
