Finally, nudity in a movie that I wanted to see. Hello to all those in cyberspace and welcome to the About-Movies.com review of The Whole Nine Yards starring Chandler, well O.K., Matthew Perry and Bruce Willis (The Sixth Sense) in a little romantic comedy. Perry plays a dentist by the name of Nick Oseransky, or Oz for short, who is married to a nasty bitch by the name of Sophie (Rosanna Arquette). He is married to her because her father and him were partners in a dental firm in Chicago. Well Sophie and her money loving mother drove daddy to some bad 'investing,' daddy killed himself, and Oz and the family moved back to Canada where Sophie came from. Then somebody by the name of Jimmy Jones (Bruce Willis) moves in next door. As it turns out Jimmy is really Jimmy the Tulip Tudeski, a Romanian mob hit man that his old boss wants dead for talking to the cops back in Chicago. Unfortunately the mob boss in question is behind bars because Jimmy put him there, and so the son by the name of Yanni Gogolack now wants him dead for that, and other reasons (10 million of them). Immediately Oz and Jimmy hit it off, but then the wife figures she can make some money by cashing in on the contract on Jimmy's head. So Sophie sends Oz to Chicago to work out a deal, and of course Oz doesn't want anything to do with it, but does want out of his crappy marriage. Now we're in the Windy City where Oz bumps into a crony of Yanni, Mr. Frankie Figs (Michael Duncan, The Green Mile). Then we get introduced to the rest of the gang including Jimmy's wife Cynthia (Natasha Henstridge, Species 2), who Oz is quite taken with. Anyway we learn that the main reason everyone wants everyone else dead is so the can collect ten million dollars if they have the death certificates off the other two parties (Yanni, Cynthia, or Jimmy). This may sound a bit confusing, but really it's not. Everything flows together and keeps you entertained. Plus the film provides lots of laughs from Amanda Peet's character Jill, who is Oz's office assistant/I'll let you find out. Peet (Simply Irresistible) is the one who provides the nudity in this picture, and I must say she has lovely breasts and a nice figure. The Whole Nine Yards starts off a bit slow, and many of the early jokes you probably have seen in the trailers, but it gets pretty funny by the end. Matthew Perry's acting is just like all his other roles, funny but very predictable facial and body movements (see Friends, Fools Rush In, and Three to Tango). Mr. Willis is funny in one of his less action-oriented films. Kevin Pollak is very funny as Yanni (the character in this film and not the longhaired singer of boring songs). Overall I liked the film and the love story, so it gets seven couches. Hopefully Mr. Perry can grow as an actor and learn some new skills. See you next time.
