About the only negative thing I have to say about Toy Story 2 is in regards to the out-takes during the credits. First they weren't that funny, second it is no longer an original idea, and finally, we all know that cartoons can't screw up. That said, the only other bad thing was that there was no nudity, but then again didn't expect any from an animated film. Now on to the good stuff. This Disney-Pixar sequel to the original comedy hit was one film that I had been looking forward to watching ever since I heard there would be second Toy Story. In Toy Story 2 the whole gang of toys played by an all-star cast of Tim Allen, Don Rickles, Tom Hanks (You've Got Mail), and John Ratzenberger team up to make the sequel a success. Joining the aforementioned actors are Wayne Knight (better known as Newman on Seinfeld), Kelsey Grammer, and Joan Cusack. Newman, I mean Knight, plays the evil owner of the Al's Toy Barn, Al McWhiggin who kidnaps Woody to take and sell. You see Woody is a valuable collectable and Al is greedy. So the adventure begins when Buzz Lightyear and company head downtown to rescue Woody. But while Buzz, Hamm, Dog, and Rex are trying to free Woody, Woody is getting a history lesson from Kelsey Grammer's character, Stinky Pete. Woody also meets Jessie, played by Cusack, who is Woody's cowgirl friend who was abandoned long ago by her owner. During this time Pete and Jessie try to keep Woody with them so that they can come out of storage and be enshrined in a Japanese toy museum. So we have two intertwined storylines going at the same time. Will they save Woody, and more importantly will Woody want to go back to his owner Andy. During the ensuing scenes there are some great laughs, especially coming from the multiple Buzz Lightyears. The directors also take time to mock other films. All in all, I definitely enjoyed myself at Toy Story 2. Like I said, I only had two negative things to say, and those didn't effect the quality of the movie. As in the first movie the computer-generated animation is superb, and as what I expected, the acting was great. Unlike most sequels, Toy Story 2 was just as good as the first, if not better than. That said, I give it nine couches and an afghan (the blanket like object and not a citizen of Afghanistan, just in case you were confused). Well enough rambling, bye bye.
