The Review:

My Oscar pick this year would have to definitely be, "The Sixth Sense" starring Bruce Willis (The Siege, Mercury Rising). I liked it so much I saw it again to see if I missed anything. I looked so hard for inconstancies in the writer and director M. Night Shyamalan, and I only found one. Willis in typical Willis cantor is Malcolm Crowe a prominent child psychologist struggling with his own shortcomings and personal failure. He begins seeing Cole Sear, in an Oscar worthy performance by new comer Haley Joel Osmet. Cole is a young boy of divorced parents and struggling with issues causing him to act out and isolating himself more and more. His issues, he can see dead people, the catch, they don't know they are dead. Willis and Osmet begin a rocky journey into self-discovery. I would not dare to give way the surprise ending to those that have not seen this film but the ending is so unique and comes out of left field that is drops everything so neatly into place that you sit there with your mouth open in shock. Kudos to the writer/director and cast, now that I have gone over this film with a fine tooth comb looking for inconstancies so I could say, " they blew it." The only flaw I could find was, oops to tell you that would be a big clue to the ending. You will just have to see it for yourself to find the flaw I discovered. I did not get to see Willis's butt which was a major disappointment for me but the intensity of "The Sixth Sense" more than made up for me missing out on nudity. Not to mention nudity would not have fit into the story line or it sure would have changed his role dramatically as a child psychologist. I do give this movie a rating of 10 couches out of 10. Yes I understand that this means there is not room for improvement but "The Sixth Sense" is the best picture I have seen in a long long time. Ten couches and that is my final answer.
