The Review:

Hello again and welcome to the Out & About Movie Review of Rush Hour, I am your movie guide, Mike Stevens. So do you like action and comedy, then Rush Hour may be just the movie for you. To start with, this is another Jackie Chan movie, you know that Hong Kong actor known for his comedic Kung Fu and hurting himself doing his own stunts. Well, he's back in America fighting crime, this time in LA instead of rumbling in the Bronx. The movie also stars Chris Tucker of That Darn Cat fame, or shame which ever you prefer. As you might have guessed I don't care much for his acting style. You see he tries to be like Eddie Murphy, but he sucks at it, which takes a lot away from Jackie Chan. Now Chan might not ever win any awards for his acting, but he has great physical skills and comedic timing. As for Rush Hour it starts with the hand-over of Hong Kong to the Chinese, at which point the police chief from there becomes a consulate in LA for China. Once there, the consulate's young daughter is kidnapped by the Hong Kong equivalent to the Mob and held for ransom. So now he calls in his old friend, Jackie Chan to help recover his kid. This gets Chris Tucker involved as a special LAPD detective assigned by the FBI to keep Chan out of the way. So Tucker and Chan keep getting into trouble for trying to get involved with the case. And that's all the plot I'll give you, but always watch for the foreshadowing. Jackie is still great, though somewhat hard to understand, but I disliked Chris Tucker, which I felt was the main drawback of the film. I've never been a big fan of action movies, but occasionally I really like them, but not this time. Not to say that I hated Rush Hour, but Rumble in The Bronx was a lot better. There were some good explosions, good action sequences, no nudity, and funny out-takes at the end. For the Out & About Movie Review I give Jackie Chan in Rush Hour four couches and karate chop. I'm Mike Stevens, and this has been the Out & About Movie Review here on KBVR TV. Goodbye.
