The Review:

Time now for the Out & About movie review, this time for the horror film, Disturbing Behavior. Disturbing Behavior is, well yes disturbing. But not because it's graphic, thought provoking, or even horrifying, but because quite frankly, it is none of these. That's what makes it so disturbing.

This rated R film starring Katie Holmes, James Marsden, and Nick Stahl (The Thin Red Line), which you may now be asking yourselves, who the hell are they? My thoughts exactly. Now Katie Holmes was in The Ice Storm, but I don't remember what part she played in that weird and strangely erotic film, which as a side note I would rather watch the Ice Storm, or even watch an ice storm, than watch Disturbing Behavior again. And to tell the truth I think I got ripped off even though I only paid three bucks to see the movie. But enough about me, back to the movie. Disturbing Behavior, directed by David Nutter, which again I have never heard of, but apparently he has directed some of the X-files episodes. Any way this "horror" movie takes place in Cradle Bay, a small town set in the San Juan's up in Puget Sound area of the state of Washington. And guess what, a new kid comes to town, sound like any other movie plots set in a high school? Well, so originality isn't the strong point of Disturbing Behavior, but strange people are. In fact my favorite character is the crazy janitor that likes to hunt rats. William Sadler, who plays the janitor, is really the only bright spot in the movie, though ultimately the rats he is after don't crawl on all fours and don't normally crawl out of your toilet. Now did I mention the sinister Blue Ribbon Club? Guess not, well anyway here goes. The Blue Ribbon club is the group of good kids, a lot like those in the national honor society, but these kids have had their minds altered so that they achieve their potential, with one draw back. Any time one of them gets a boner, or for the girls gets hot and bothered, they go psycho and try to kill other people, all of which is hidden from the parents who sign their kids up for the group. The evil club is led by the annoying looking Dr. Caldicott, played by Bruce Greenwood (The Sweet Hereafter), and whose daughter is a permanent exhibit at the local mental institution who likes to listen to the little creatures who play music in the flowers, or something like that. All in all the movie sucked, plus The Little Mermaid has more horror in it.

So for the Out & About rating, I give it one whole couch...well wait a minute, I did get to see a breast, so I'll make it two couches...well wait the actress doesn't have much talent there so I guess I'll just have to make it one and a half couches...wait, no I guess that's it, one and a half couches for Disturbing Behavior. So don't go see it in a theatre near you, wait a year (or less) for it to be in the 99-cent section at Hollywood Video, get ten friends together and that way you only spend about 10 cents each. For the Out & About movie review I have been Mike Stevens, now back to our loveable and huggable host.
